Inheritance, Unity, and Moving Forward - Our Hospital Holds the "5.12 International Nurses' Day" Celebration and Recognition Ceremony -HAINAN CHENGMEI HOSPITAL

In the early summer of May, all things flourish and thrive.

On May 15th, Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital jointly held the "International Nurses Day" celebration and recognition ceremony themed "Inheritance, Unity, and Moving Forward," to honor the nursing units and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of both hospitals.

Guo Qiyong, Acting Chairman of the Hospital Council, along with Council leaders Xu Minggui, Lin Shiquan, Li Lei, Wang Chao, Guo Juan, Professor Wang Ping, the Former Director of Tianjin Cancer Hospital and the Chief Expert of the Radiotherapy Center of Hainan Cancer Hospital, and leaders of the party and government leadership teams of both hospitals, including Shi Yaohui, Liu Yuehong, Yang Shufen, Gao Jihe, Liu Weisong, Shi Liu, and Zheng Yin, the expert-type deputy hospital director, attended the celebration and recognition ceremony. The celebration and recognition ceremony was hosted by Wang Zhiying, Vice President and Director of the Nursing Department.

"With our love for life, we fulfill the promise of Florence Nightingale. With our gentle words, we inspire patients to overcome pain and regain confidence..." Eight head nurses, hailing from Heilongjiang, Xinjiang, Henan, Guangdong, Hainan, and other regions, took the stage, kicking off the celebration and recognition ceremony with a beautiful poetry performance that gracefully integrated Hainanese and Mandarin.

With sonorous poetry and genuine emotions pouring out, the performance deeply expressed the commitment to the profession and care for life...

Passing the torch and the cap, the mission is continued. The cap-offering and oath-taking ceremony is a fixed and solemn "ritual" of every Nurses Day. At the scene, the newly recruited young nurses took the stage one by one, humbly receiving the holy nurse caps from their senior nursing colleagues. Led by the seniors, they raised their right hands solemnly and pledged their oaths, with Florence Nightingales vow echoing throughout the entire venue.

Shi Yaohui, the Party Secretary, Executive Director of Hainan Cancer Hospital, and Director of Hainan Chengmei Hospital, delivered a speech at the ceremony. On behalf of the hospital, he extended his highest respect and festive greetings to all nurses working tirelessly on the front line, and congratulated the recognized collectives and individuals.

Shi Yaohui pointed out that in the past year, through the implementation of 39 nursing quality improvement projects, nursing information construction, and the introduction of innovative nursing narrative management and "Internet + Nursing" models, as well as the establishment of a pain-free hospital and the first-ask responsibility system, the quality of nursing services and the efficiency of clinical basic nursing have been significantly improved.

"The treatment has limits, but the passion never ends." In the past year, the hospital has been awarded the "Outstanding Organization Award" by the Hainan Provincial Nursing Association Branch of the China Florence Nightingale Volunteer Service Team. In addition to their hard work, the nurses have traveled to grassroots hospitals in various cities and counties, entered schools, communities, nursing homes, and other places to conduct nursing education and volunteer services. With their sense of responsibility and dedication, they have earned widespread praise from all sectors of society.

Nursing professionals are the vanguard and main force in medical care, and they should be given more care, attention, and warmth. Shi Yaohui expressed his hope that hospital leaders and heads of functional departments would further immerse themselves in clinical practice, gain a deeper understanding of nurses thoughts, work, and living conditions, listen more to their voices, and take more measures to improve the efficiency of administrative services. This will ensure that every nursing colleague receives the respect and security they deserve, enabling them to devote their full attention to serving every patient and jointly building a dream of healthy and fulfilling lives.

Subsequently, Liu Yuehong, the Deputy Director of Hainan Cancer Hospital, read out the commendation decision. The Council and leaders of the two hospitals presented honorary certificates and medals to the recognized "Most Beautiful Nurses," "Most Beautiful Head Nurses," and "Excellent Nursing Units."

A nurses cap, a lifetime of dedication to nursing. On behalf of the most beautiful head nurses, Ning Xiuting, the head nurse of the Gastrointestinal Surgery Department 2, and on behalf of the most beautiful nurses, Li Longqian, a nurse from the Urology Department, shared their profound experiences of growing and progressing together with the hospital, as well as their pride and sense of accomplishment in using professional nursing skills to treat patients and alleviate their pain. They unanimously expressed that they will always adhere to their original aspirations and safeguard the health of patients with their professional skills and warm-hearted service.

Acting Chairman Guo Qiyong profoundly elaborated on the inspiring story of Florence Nightingale, the founder of nursing. He emphasized that nursing is a profession filled with compassion and sanctity, not only involving medical and technical services, but also requiring humanistic care. He encouraged all nursing staff in the hospital to continue to carry forward the spirit of Florence Nightingale and internalize it as their own code of conduct. He urged them to use their compassion, care, and sense of responsibility to alleviate patients suffering, accelerate their recovery, and ultimately achieve the goal of improving patients survival rates and quality of life.

"It is hoped that every patient and their family members who come to our hospital can feel the warmth of a home, making our hospital a haven for healing both body and mind for the people of Hainan Island." Acting Chairman Guo Qiyong said that nursing service never stops, and hoped that all nursing brothers and sisters continue to enhance the connotation and extension of nursing services, patient-centered, professional strength, service to create a brand, and comprehensively improve the effectiveness of nursing services for the hospitals high-quality development to contribute to the power of nursing.
