Professor Wang Changli is the former deputy dean of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital, former chairman of the Lung Cancer Committee of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, currently the deputy chairman of the Oncology Committee on Capacity Building and Continuing Education of the National Health Commission, the deputy chairman of the Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Expert Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO), the chairman of the Lung Cancer Committee of Tianjin Anti-Cancer Association, the director of the Tianjin Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Center, and the director of the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital, the chairman of the Academic Committee of Hainan Cancer Hospital, and the specially-appointed director of the Thoracic Cancer Center of Hainan Cancer Hospital.
Professor Wang Changli has been engaged in clinical, teaching and scientific research of thoracic tumors for 40 years. He is the leader of the national key specialty of thoracic surgery. He focuses on early diagnosis, surgical treatment, comprehensive treatment of lung cancer and related basic and clinical research of lung cancer. He specializes in dealing with various complex and refractory thoracic malignancies and has conducted systemic research on lymph node dissection in lung cancer surgery for many years, which significantly improved the surgical cure rate of lung cancer.
With exquisite surgical skills and superb techniques, Professor Wang Changli is the first in Tianjin to carry out artificial intelligence-assisted therapy (da Vinci robotic minimally invasive surgery for lung cancer), pioneering new domains for surgical treatment of pulmonary tumors. In 2020, he established the national da Vinci surgical robot lung cancer surgery clinical teaching demonstration center, providing online live broadcasts of standard robotic minimally invasive and thoracoscopic surgery for lung cancer to over 30 provinces and cities nationwide every year, which plays an important role in promoting minimally invasive surgical treatment for lung cancer in China.
