Chief Physician. Graduated from Shanxi Medical University in 1994 and was assigned to work in the Department of Gastroenterology at The Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University in the same year. From 1998 to 2001, he obtained a Master’s degree in Internal Medicine from Shanxi Medical University; from 2008 to 2010, he earned a Doctorate in Gastroenterology from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In 2010, he transferred to the Department of Gastroenterology at Hainan General Hospital, where he was appointed Director of the Endoscopic Diagnosis and Treatment Center in July 2012. In April 2021, he became Director of the Department of Gastroenterology and the Endoscopy Center at Hainan Cancer Hospital.

With 37 years of experience in the field of gastroenterology, Dr. Zhao has a thorough command of the fundamental theories and clinical techniques in gastroenterology and endoscopy. He possesses extensive clinical experience and outstanding endoscopic technical skills. He specializes in a wide range of complex and challenging endoscopic techniques, including ERCP and its related procedures, ESD and its related techniques, endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS), PEG procedures, capsule endoscopy, and enteroscopy, among others.
