The Chinese New Year is a traditional Chinese festival, and people often enjoy the delicious food at this time.

Family reunion, friends gathering, "eat" is an unavoidable word.

At the same time, people eat fish and meat during Chinese new year, the table is full of "strong dishes". However, eating during the festival may lead to gastrointestinal problems, we called them "new year disease".

How to eat it during the Spring Festival? For this, we interviewed Tu Ruisha, Director of Gastrointestinal Surgery Department 1 of Hainan Cancer Hospital and Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Center of Hainan Chengmei Hospital.

Tu Ruisha said that a healthy diet during the Spring Festival is about "five avoids" in total.

I. Avoid excessive drinking of alcohol

Moderate drink makes us happy, too much drink hurt our body. Alcohol itself has a greater irritation to the gastric mucosa, which leads to gastric acid secretion increasing, causing gastritis, gastric ulcer and other problems. In addition, alcohol will also stimulate the intestinal mucosa, leading to gastrointestinal dysfunction, causing diarrhea, constipation and other problems. Long-term excessive drinking can also cause harm to the liver, causing fatty liver, cirrhosis and other diseases.

Tu Ruisha reminded that during the Spring Festival, we should drink moderately, do not drink too much, to avoid the gastrointestinal and liver health damage caused excessive drinking.

II. Avoid excessive consumption of pickled products

In many places, during Chinese new year, people will make preserved bacon, preserved fish, sausage, etc. After the processing of these preserved products, they are delicious, which is a good match of wine and rice during new year.

Although pickled products are very popular during the Spring Festival, excessive consumption of such food does great harm to the gastrointestinal tract and our health. Pickled products are high in salt, and excessive intake increases the concentration of sodium in the blood, leading to increased blood pressure and increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease. And the high-salt food itself has a stimulating effect on the gastric mucosa, which is easy to lead to gastritis. In addition, the substances such as nitrite and nitrosamines in pickled products can also damage the body and increase the risk of cancer. Therefore, during the Spring Festival, the intake of pickled products should be properly controlled, and more fresh ingredients should be selected to protect the gastrointestinal tract and health.

III. Avoid excessive fish and meat

During the Spring Festival, fish and meat is a common food on the table. Tu Rusha said that excessive consumption of fish and meat sometimes can hurt the body instead of nourish it.

Fish and meat have a high fat content, and too much intake will increase cholesterol levels, leading to cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis and hypertension. In addition, excessive consumption of meat will also increase the burden of the gastrointestinal tract, causing indigestion, stomach distension and other problems. Therefore, during the Spring Festival, we should consume protein properly, control the intake of fat, eat meat and fish together with fresh fruits and vegetables, coarse grains, to protect our gastrointestinal tract and cardiovascular.

IV. Avoid an irregular diet

The harm of irregular diet to the gastrointestinal tract cannot be ignored. During the Spring Festival, people sleep late, play around and play cards, who often eat irregularly, which may easily lead to gastrointestinal dysfunction.

Long-term irregular diet can also affect the balance of intestinal flora, leading to the occurrence of digestive system problems. Therefore, during the Spring Festival, we should reasonably arrange the time of three meals, and try to avoid overeating or long-time limosis, in order to reduce the burden of the gastrointestinal tract. At the same time, we should pay attention to the diversity of diet, intake of enough dietary fiber and all kinds of nutrients, to maintain the intestinal health.

V. Avoid excessive midnight snack

During the Spring Festival, family and friends reunion, it is unavoidable to drink and eat night snack.

Excessive food intake at night is also unhealthy, Tu Ruisha said. Night snack is usually high fat, high calorie food, excessive consumption is likely to lead to gastrointestinal burden, causing gastrointestinal flatulence, indigestion and other problems. In addition, eating too much at night can affect sleep quality and increase the risk of obesity and metabolic diseases, it may even induce acute pancreatitis, leading to serious consequences.

Therefore, during the Spring Festival, we should try to avoid having night snack, if you really want to eat, you should not eat too much or get to bed just after eating.

Tu Ruisha reminded, during the Chinese New Year, we should not only pay attention to a reasonable diet, but also to relaxation, strengthen physical exercise appropriately, increase the amount of exercise, protect the gastrointestinal health, do not let table "lively" lead to gastrointestinal "noisy".
