From July 19 to 21, Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital jointly held the second training session for middle management and young talents. This training session specially invited Professor Guo Qiyong, a renowned hospital management expert and Acting Chairman of Hainan Cancer Hospital, to deliver the lectures.

Professor Guo Qiyong is a prestigious hospital management expert in China, enjoying a high reputation in both academic and medical fields, with outstanding achievements in hospital management and healthcare informatization.

Professor Guo pointed out that China’s healthcare industry is transitioning from being disease-centered to health-centered. The growing demand for multi-level and diverse healthcare services from the public presents new opportunities and challenges for medical institutions. Talent is the core competitive advantage for hospital development. Continuously optimizing and enhancing the talent training system is a powerful driver for high-quality hospital development.

This year, "talent cultivation" has been identified as one of the hospital’s top ten key special projects. The hospital is committed to nurturing and retaining outstanding young and middle-aged talents through a series of measures such as improving the talent selection and growth mechanism, establishing a special fund for talent cultivation, and formulating talent training plans, thereby achieving a win-win situation for personal growth and hospital development.

Professor Guo highly praised the achievements of the first training session, stating that middle management and young backbone staff are the pillars of hospital management and crucial to the hospital’s future development. The hospital has always attached great importance to talent cultivation, actively creating a broad platform for learning and growth, assisting employees to achieve self-improvement and development.

How to become a qualified department head? At a training session for middle management, Professor Guo shared his practical experience and theoretical knowledge. He provided a multi-dimensional and systematic overview of departmental management systems and thinking methods from the perspectives of how to be a good person, how to handle tasks, how to manage, and how to improve, offering valuable guidance and assistance for the work and development of department heads.

He emphasized that the competency of department teams reflects the overall level of the hospital. As leaders of their departments, the heads play a crucial role in the hospital’s construction and development. He encouraged participants to seize the learning opportunity and effectively apply the training outcomes to their future medical services, adding momentum to discipline development, team building, and technological service innovation, thereby enhancing the quality and efficiency of hospital services.

Shi Yaohui, Party Secretary and Executive Dean of Hainan Cancer Hospital, and Dean of Chengmei Hospital, shared insights on the theme of "Hospital Performance Management". He stated that performance management should always be integrated into the hospital’s development, serving as the guarantee and cornerstone for the hospital’s sustainable and stable development.
