67-year-old Mr. Wen and his daughter, Ms. Wen,
yet their hearts were filled with hope and warmth.
"He is skilled and highly regarded, excelling in both."
Ms. Wen recalled that in April 2024, her father, Mr. Wen, who had previously been diagnosed with kidney cancer, discovered a solid nodule in his left lung during a follow-up. "Although the nature of the nodule was unclear yet, the possibility of lung cancer threw the entire family into anxiety," Ms.Wen said.
In October, the family’s worst fears came true when a follow-up examination revealed that the mass in Mr. Wens left lung had grown larger, with a possible tumor.
After conducting extensive research, Ms. Wen learned that Professor Yang Nong, a renowned expert in lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, regularly holds consultations at Hainan Cancer Hospital. "What mattered most to us were the doctor’s exceptional treatment skills and excellent reputation, and Professor Yang excelled in both," she explained. During this time, Ms. Wen frequently searched for information about Professor Yang online and read reviews from other patients, which sparked new hope in her heart.
“With him around, we feel much more at ease”

“The priority is metastatic lung cancer from kidney cancer. Based on the information provided, the main treatment approach is to first control the lung tumor,” said Professor Yang after reviewing Mr. Wens imaging results. He noted that Mr. Wen showed poor sensitivity to chemotherapy and immunotherapy and recommended a combination of anti-angiogenic therapy and immunotherapy.
“Does my father face significant risks if a biopsy is performed on the lung nodule?” Ms. Wen asked anxiously.
Professor Yang clarified, “As you can see, the tumor is located deep, and this area around the lesion is full of blood vessels, making a biopsy technically challenging and prone to bleeding.” He advised starting with standardized treatment first.
Regarding the concern from Mr. Wens family about whether surgery is necessary, Professor Yang Nong explained that after treatment and to control the tumors growth, the possibility of surgery could be reconsidered later. "Dont worry too much. If the mass shrinks after treatment, well consider the next steps in treatment," he said.
"After hearing Professor Yangs explanation, we finally feel relieved, and my father is now more at ease with proceeding to the next treatment phase," Ms. Wen said after the consultation. She added, "Were so fortunate to have such a great doctor like Professor Yang, who patiently explains everything. With him around, we feel much more reassured."
