As the new year begins, all things are renewed.

On the morning of January 1st, the first day of the new year, the inpatient ward of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Hainan Chengmei Hospital was brightly lit. The ward was filled with laughter as 18 hospitalized patients received the first "blessing" of the new year from the medical staff.

It is reported that many of the inpatients in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department of Hainan Chengmei Hospital are elderly individuals who, due to their medical treatment, were unable to return home to celebrate the new year with their families. To compensate for their regrets, the medical staff volunteered to forgo their holiday rest time and carefully organized this New Year blessing activity.

On that day, Zheng Yin, the Vice President of Hainan Chengmei Hospital, along with the medical staff of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department, visited the inpatient ward with New Year cards and thoughtful gift bags to celebrate the New Year with the hospitalized patients.

"Wishyou a heart as vibrant as the spring, strong and rhythmic in the new year, may you stroll leisurely, laugh heartily, and enjoy the beauty of life..." Shu Yue, the Deputy Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department, wrote this heartfelt message in the New Year card with love. Her graceful handwriting revealed deep sincerity.

The gift bags thoughtfully prepared by the medical staff were filled with "love": walnuts, red dates, oranges, and Wang Wang Snow Biscuits, symbolizing "health, good fortune, and prosperity."

"Cardiac rehabilitation not only focuses on the physical recovery of patients, but psychological health is also crucial. For heart disease patients, physical discomfort and concerns about their illness often lead to significant psychological stress. As healthcare providers, we must not only use our professional skills to treat patients, but also use empathy and care to soothe their hearts," said Zheng Yin, Vice President.

It is reported that the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department of Hainan Chengmei Hospital follows a medical rehabilitation philosophy based on comprehensive medical assessment, centered around the "five prescriptions of cardiac rehabilitation": medication prescription, exercise prescription, nutrition prescription, psychological prescription, and intervention in unhealthy lifestyles. Deputy Director Shu Yue explained that cardiac rehabilitation involves all aspects of life cycle management and is a comprehensive medical process. This process not only includes necessary medical treatments but also covers psychological support, exercise training, nutrition guidance, social support, and more.

Many patients, upon receiving gifts and heartfelt blessings from the medical staff, showed sincere smiles, and some even had tears in their eyes. "Gifts are not measured by their weight, the warmth of being remembered is the best gift." A long-term inpatient tightly grasped the hands of the medical staff, unable to hide their emotions.

87-year-old Mrs. Chen, who came from Beijing to Hainan for the "winter", was undergoing treatment in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department. She was very happy to receive the "blessings" from the medical staff early on New Years Day. "The care from the medical staff is like the warm sun in winter. Here, not only is my body recovering, but I also feel the warmth of home, which gives me confidence in my rehabilitation."

The New Year blessing activity is a concrete expression of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Departments focus on patients psychological and emotional needs, providing care and psychological support. In the future, the department will also actively carry out various activities such as mental health lectures and patient education exchange meetings, using "heart" to guard patients and assist them in achieving comprehensive rehabilitation.
