As time passes, the aspirations for the future are renewed.

On January 10th, Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital held the 2024 Annual Summary and Commendation Conference. All hospital staff gathered to summarize the past, look to the future, commend excellence, and embark on a new journey. Advanced collectives and individuals with outstanding performance in medical services, scientific research innovation, and hospital management were honored.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hainan Cancer Hospital, Jiang Huicheng; Acting Chairman, Guo Qiyong; Board leaders Xu Minggui and Li Lei; as well as the leadership teams of both hospitals, department (section) heads and deputy heads, head nurses, chief technicians, award recipients, and leaders from subsidiaries of Hainan Chengmei Medical Group attended the conference.

In 2024, Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital adhered to the management philosophy that "development is the fundamental truth," seeking development amid change and forging new paths. Over the past year, the two hospitals achieved a year-on-year increase of 10.06% in outpatient and emergency visits, 11.23% in discharges, and 23.94% in health checkups. A total of 2,626 "three-new technology projects" were applied, while the business volume of the "one-stop" service for oncology outpatient services grew by 24.54% year-on-year. This growth reflects the improvements in medical technology, service quality, and operational management, injecting strong momentum into the hospitals future high-quality development.

Over the past year, the two hospitals forged ahead under pressure and achieved remarkable results in their main tasks.

1. Multi-dimensional efforts to weave a "protection net" for medical quality and safety

Medical quality and safety are the lifelines of hospital development. The two hospitals have strengthened the implementation of core systems, refined pharmaceutical management, strictly controlled medical record quality, implemented a three-tier nursing quality control system, enhanced standardized management of disease prevention and infection control, deepened Diagnosis-Intervention Packet (DIP) operation management, reinforced logistics service support, and improved the efficiency of medical equipment services. These efforts collectively form a robust "protection net" for medical quality and safety, ensuring the steady development of medical services and safeguarding public health.

2. Multi-Pronged Strategies to Accelerate the "Power Engine" of Medical Efficiency

With a focus on overall development, the two hospitals have promoted efficient allocation of resources, meticulously planned department layouts, established specialized outpatient services and departments, and conducted daytime services tailored to local needs, providing more comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to the public. Accelerating informatization, they have improved the data governance framework, enhanced data analysis and mining, and built a visualized decision-making platform, thereby boosting hospital management and operational efficiency.

3. Multi-Point Drivers to Bring "New Vitality" to Research Culture

Focusing on talent cultivation and scientific research, the hospitals have strengthened the integration of medical education and research, supported technological innovation and the transformation of achievements, and won the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. The number of published papers authorized patents, and project funding reached new heights. Multiple teams and individuals excelled, receiving significant national, provincial, and municipal honors, with several experts appointed to key academic positions. As the only unit in the province recognized as a teaching center for improving precision management of cancer pain in county-level medical institutions, the hospitals actively utilized the exemplary role of Party members and were honored as a "National Model Workers Home."

4. Diversified Empowerment to Expand the Influence of the "Chengmei Health" Brand

Brand building and promotion act as accelerators for hospital development. Strengthening the promotional team, creating high-quality content, and expanding media channels, empower the "Chengmei Health" brand to stand out. Actively developing collaborations with commercial insurance providers, offering diverse health check-up services, and providing personalized VIP medical services, they have set a benchmark for health services in the Hainan Free Trade Port with their professional and high-quality care.

5. Multi-Pronged Measures to Strengthen the "Safety Wall" for Cancer Prevention and Treatment

Leveraging robust medical resources, the hospitals have consistently delivered high-quality national public health projects for many years. They conducted 8,000 clinical screenings for urban cancer early detection and treatment with a 100% completion rate and performed 14,224 opportunistic screenings for upper gastrointestinal cancer in rural areas with a 142% completion rate. The quality of cancer screening and early diagnosis training has significantly improved, earning the hospital recognition from the national project office as a province showing notable progress.

Reflecting on the past, perseverance has paid off. Chairman Jiang Huicheng extended heartfelt gratitude to all staff for their hard work over the year, warmly congratulated the award-winning teams and individuals, and delivered an important speech.

He stated that in 2024, over a thousand staff members from the two hospitals embraced their mission and faced numerous challenges together, driving steady growth across all operations. Outpatient services and health check-ups saw significant increases despite adversity, reflecting advancements in the hospitals medical technology and service quality, which have consistently earned patient trust. These achievements are hard-won.

This year, Hainan Cancer Hospital will embark on the journey towards its 10th anniversary. In this momentous year, Acting Chairman Guo Qiyong outlined the hospitals key objectives for 2025 and the arrangements for ten special initiatives.

In 2025, the hospitals will focus on advancing medical quality and safety, enhancing disciplinary capabilities, strengthening medical regulations, innovating performance systems, promoting talent development strategies, and upgrading service quality. At the same time, efforts will be made across the "ten special initiatives" to drive the comprehensive development of the two hospitals. Guo Qiyong expressed his hope that, under the correct leadership of the Board of Directors, all colleagues will "strengthen the foundation, foster specialties, extend strengths, and address weaknesses," delivering outstanding achievements in celebration of the hospitals 10th anniversary.

Shi Yaohui, Party Secretary and Executive Director of Hainan Cancer Hospital and President of Hainan Chengmei Hospital, presented the 2024 Annual Work Report.

Shi Yaohui noted that the past year was marked by both challenges and breakthroughs, difficulties, and achievements. He expressed his hope that in the new year, everyone will continue to move forward courageously, face challenges and rigorous tests, refine their medical skills with dedication, and transform the envisioned blueprint into a vibrant reality where health leads to a better life.

Recognizing excellence and setting examples, Vice President Yang Shufen of Hainan Cancer Hospital announced the awards during the meeting. Award-winning groups and individuals, including "The Most Beautiful Functional Team, The Most Beautiful Department Director, The Most Beautiful Employee, Outstanding Individual in Grassroots Free Clinics, Research Innovation, and Outstanding Achievement Awards," took the stage to receive their honors.

In 2024, the Board of Directors introduced the "Chairman’s Special Award" to recognize departments that have achieved remarkable accomplishments and made extraordinary efforts. Liu Yuehong, Vice President of Hainan Cancer Hospital, announced the awards.
