"One-Stop" Sleep Management Service

On the occasion of World Sleep Day, the Sleep Management Center of Hainan Chengmei Hospital was officially inaugurated on March 20th. Leveraging multidisciplinary expert resources, advanced diagnostic equipment, and a professional sleep management system, the center provides integrated "one-stop" services covering sleep monitoring, assessment, diagnosis, personalized treatment plans, and rehabilitation guidance.

Humans spend approximately one-third of their lives sleeping, and sleep quality is crucial to both physical and mental health. With the accelerating pace of modern life, sleep-related issues such as insomnia, snoring, and excessive dreaming are becoming increasingly prevalent. Authoritative statistics indicate that over 300 million people in China suffer from sleep disorders.

Experts from the Sleep Management Center highlighted the dangers of insufficient or poor-quality sleep:

Firstly it weakens the immune system, making the body more susceptible to infections and diseases;

Secondly it impairs brain cognitive functions, reducing attention, memory, decision-making ability, and reaction speed, while potentially triggering psychological issues like depression and anxiety;

Thirdly it increases risks of cardiovascular and cerbrovascular diseases, including hypertension, heart disease, and stroke;

Fourthly it causes endocrine disorders, elevating risks of obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome…

As public health awareness grows and more people pay attention to sleep health, the demand for sleep-related medical services is increasing significantly. However, the traditional model of sleep diagnosis and treatment often suffers from fragmented departments and insufficient collaboration, making it challenging to achieve precise and efficient diagnosis and treatment for complex sleep disorders.

To address the urgent need from the public for high-quality sleep healthcare, Hainan Chengmei Hospital established its "one-stop" Sleep Management Center by relying on its strong medical resources. The center integrates multidisciplinary experts from respiratory medicine, cardiovascular medicine, endocrinology, neurology, otolaryngology, dentistry, nutrition, and psychology, forming a dedicated MDT (multidisciplinary team). Equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, including the innovative "Sleep Cabin + Scientific Intervention" system and the unique "Deep Sleep Cottage" service, the center offers comprehensive, full-cycle solutions for sleep disorders.

Shi Yaohui, Secretary of Party Committee and Executive Director of Hainan Provincial Cancer Hospital and Director of Hainan Chengmei Hospital, emphasized that sleep is a cornerstone of healthy living. In recent years, with the nation’s growing emphasis on public health, sleep health—as a key element—has garnered widespread attention. The hospital has actively responded to the “Healthy China” initiative by continuously expanding diversified health services and enhancing its specialized discipline construction system, which culminated in the careful preparation and establishment of the Sleep Management Center.

Regarding future development, Shi proposed two key directions: The first one is to closely align with social realities by accurately understanding and effectively meeting the public’s actual needs for healthy sleep. The other one is to embrace an open and innovative mindset by actively incorporating advanced sleep diagnostic and treatment technologies from both domestic and international sources, fully utilizing cutting-edge equipment and scientific methods to provide patients with comprehensive, professional, and considerate care, ultimately helping them regain healthy sleep.

Leaders including Liu Yuehong, Yang Shufen, Wang Zhiying, and Dong Wen from Hainan Provincial Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital, along with administrative staff and clinical representatives, attended the inauguration ceremony.
