On May 12, Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital jointly held the “5.12 International Nurses’ Day” celebration and excellent nurses’ commendation conference with the theme of “Youth Gathering Strength, Innovation Leading Development” to commend 39 most beautiful nurse leaders, most beautiful nurses, excellent nursing housekeepers and 5 excellent nursing units that made outstanding contributions to the development of the hospital.

Hospital Board Chairman Jiang Huicheng, Executive Chairman Lin Shiquan, Board Members Xu Minggui and Li Lei, Medical Group Vice Presidents Jiang Qianqian and Wang Chao, Hospital Leaders Wu Zhiyong, Xiao Gang, Liu Yuehong, Liu Weisong, Gao Jihe, Lv Yonghong, Zhou Weiping, Song Xiaodong, Niu Tiehong and other leaders attended the celebration and recognition activity. With beautiful music melody, the nursing seniors put on the holy tuxedo cap for the new nurses and they took a solemn oath.

Gao Jihe, Vice President of Hainan Cancer Hospital, sent holiday greetings to the nursing staff working around the clock at the front line of the clinic on behalf of the hospital, and congratulated the commended nursing collectives and individuals, and fully affirmed the achievements of the nursing work of the two hospitals in the past year.

As a tertiary class A hospital, Hainan Cancer Hospital takes the lead in implementing the “one bed in the whole hospital” management mode to meet the nursing needs of tumor patients, making hospitalization more convenient for patients. It also carried out painless nursing operations; set up “wound stomy, lymphedema, vascular access” and other specialized nursing clinics; carried out narrative nursing, set up "tranquility consensus application pilot nursing unit", made nursing with more humanity and life more dignified; it implemented “Internet + nursing” service to provide patients with cross-team, continuous, whole-process nursing services to cast the oncology specialty nursing brand with action.

Hainan Chengmei Hospital is the first tertiary geriatric hospital in the province with international standards. The hospital innovated nursing service models by setting up platform nurses, Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) and nursing housekeepers to provide management models with no family members accompanying or accompanying without nursing for different patients needs; opening special nursing specialty clinics and rehabilitation nursing clubs, carrying out humanistic nursing care and implementing comfort nursing services to provide uncompromising care and nursing care for senior and elderly patients.

They spoke with great affection and passion, demonstrating their loyalty and love for nursing career.

In his speech, Chairman Jiang Huicheng fully recognized the contribution of nursing staff in the development of the hospital. He said that since the beginning of this year, we have started a new chapter of nursing work by carrying out the nursing service of “Service with heart in details”, holding “visualization” micro-video competition and sharing meeting of nurses’ caring cases, lean management seminar and nursing-patient association. He hopes that we could continue to maintain and carry forward the service concept of “patient as the center” and "patient first” into the actual medical work to build a healthier and harmonious doctor-patient relationship, and provide patients with care services with better quality.

Chairman Jiang Huicheng stressed that in the information era, new knowledge, new concepts and new technologies are constantly emerging and patients needs are constantly increasing.
