To deepen the nursing service concept of "Love is Empowerment", on the eve of the 5·12 International Nurses' Day, our hospital's Nursing Department carefully organized the third narrative nursing sharing competition with the theme of "Empowering Nurses, Protecting Lives". Vice President Wang Zhiying, Director Meng Chanyu from the Marketing and Publicity Department, Deputy Director Jiang Shaohua from the Medical Department, Deputy Director Jiang Bei from the Nursing Department, head nurses from various departments, and nursing colleagues gathered at the scene to listen to the warm stories from the wards and feel the sincere power of nursing humanity.
The competition was hosted by Head Nurse Huang Guifang from the 10C nursing unit. After rigorous selection across various regions, 10 outstanding nursing cases ultimately stood out. The shared works focused on real-life experiences on the front line of clinical practice, vividly demonstrating the warmth, perseverance, and responsibility in nursing work.
At the event, 10 presenters took the stage in turn, sharing nursing stories that took place both inside and outside the wards with sincere emotions and plain language. The content covered multiple scenarios such as end-of-life care, psychological counseling, home care, humanistic companionship, conflict resolution, and rehabilitation support. There were moments of regret and protection when facing the loss of young lives, as well as warm moments when resolving patients' loneliness and promoting family reconciliation; there were professional perseverances that chose to embrace empathy in the face of misunderstandings and grievances, as well as touching moments when using professional care and warm companionship to help patients regain hope and overcome pain. A bowl of hot rice, a greeting, a listening, and a commitment, ordinary and trivial daily life, converged into a power that reached deep into people's hearts, deeply touching and warming the audience present.

In the end, Yin Wanling from the Respiratory Medicine Department won the first prize, while Chen Qiao from the Second Radiotherapy Ward and Zhang Jinghui from the First Radiotherapy Ward won the second prize; Liu Xiaojing from the Breast Surgery Department and Gao Qiao from the Gastroenterology Department, both from the 10C Nursing Unit, won the third prize; Zhou Yufeng from the Third Oncology Ward, Ji Caikao from the 4B Nursing Unit, Wu Chengcheng from the Rehabilitation Department, and Yuan Xing from the Health Examination Center won the Excellence Award.
At the end of the competition, the on-site judges spoke highly of the event. Vice President Wang Zhiying pointed out in her comments that the narrative nursing sharing profoundly interpreted the core connotation of humanistic nursing, which emphasizes attentive listening, sincere empathy, and precise response, fully demonstrating the solid achievements of our hospital's humanistic nursing construction. She emphasized that this year, our hospital will focus on promoting the construction of palliative care wards. Palliative care focuses on alleviating physical and psychological suffering and safeguarding the dignity of life, with professional care as the cornerstone and humanistic warmth nourishing our original aspiration, making the end of life more quality and warm. Deputy Director Meng Chanyu highly praised the entire sharing activity with the words "hard to distinguish, each has its own merits", and revealed that our hospital's marketing department is currently creating a series of promotional videos for the celebration of life. The high-quality nursing stories collected this time will be refined and publicized to fully showcase the warmth and perseverance of nursing workers. Deputy Directors Jiang Shaohua and Jiang Bei also fully affirmed and highly praised this competition, unanimously agreeing that the event had a clear theme and sincere content, which not only demonstrated the humanistic quality and professional responsibility of the nursing team but also provided vivid practice and strong support for the continuous deepening of our hospital's humanistic nursing and palliative care work.

This narrative nursing competition has provided a platform for nursing colleagues to exchange ideas, grow, and refine their original aspirations, while also deeply embedding the concept of humanistic care into clinical practice and permeating it into people's hearts. All nursing staff expressed that they will take this competition as an opportunity to adhere to their original aspirations as doctors, abide by their professional duties, always maintain empathy and a reverence for life, and integrate listening, understanding, and companionship into daily care. They will use their professionalism to safeguard health, convey warmth with tenderness, and provide patients with higher quality, more caring, and more dignified nursing services with heart and soul.
