On May 12th, Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital jointly held the "5·12 International Nurses' Day" celebration and outstanding nurses commendation conference. The conference, themed "Love is Empowerment - Inheritance, Dedication, Perseverance", commended the outstanding nursing teams and individuals who had made significant contributions to the development of the two hospitals over the past year.

Jiang Huicheng, Chairman of the Hospital Council, along with council leaders Xu Minggui, Lin Shiquan, Wu Wanmin, Cai Meng, Jiang Qianqian, Wang Chao, and Tan Changyou, as well as hospital and institute leaders Yu Shuyong, Li Lei, Liu Yuehong, Wang Zhiying, Gao Jihe, Dong Wen, Zhao Xinkai, Duan Lanfeng, Zhou Weiping, Zheng Yin, and Qian Yong, attended the conference.

The conference kicked off with a special promotional video for Nurses' Day. The sitcom "Empowered by Love, Guarded by Heart" is based on real clinical nursing scenarios, focusing on the warm interactions between nurses and patients as well as daily service details, vividly illustrating the responsibility and commitment of nursing staff to provide warm care and attentive service.

Yu Shuyong, the President of the hospital, extended festive greetings and sincere gratitude to all nursing staff. He stated that nursing service is the foundation of medical warmth and an important cornerstone for the high-quality development of the hospital. He hoped that all nursing staff would adhere to their original aspirations as medical professionals, delve deeply into specialized fields such as oncology, critical care, geriatrics, rehabilitation, and palliative care, improve nursing skills, optimize service quality, care for patients with warmth, fulfill their duties with hard work, promote the quality development of the hospital's nursing career, and enhance the brand of characteristic nursing services.

Over the past year, the nursing teams of the two hospitals have adhered to the concept of "Love is Empowerment" and established a high-quality nursing service system throughout the entire cycle. They have actively implemented the "Three-Minute Heartwarming Action" to convey the warmth of medical humanity; promoted the mentorship system to strengthen the foundation of nursing profession; delved deeply into the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine nursing, innovated traditional therapies, developed unique medicinal ointments, and enriched the connotation of specialized services; and held regular nurse symposiums to listen to the voices of the front line, unite team efforts, and achieve a two-way improvement in specialized nursing capabilities and the quality of humanistic services.

"Warm, professional, and responsible!" Chairman Jiang Huicheng highly recognized the nursing work of the entire hospital. He pointed out that the hospital is currently in a critical period of high-quality development, with the implementation of robotic diagnosis and treatment projects, the launch of the proton therapy center project, and all work in the hospital's international department being comprehensively and orderly carried out.

Chairman Jiang Huicheng emphasized that all cadres and staff of the hospital should firmly establish the development concept of "the entire hospital as one chessboard, and doctors and nurses as one heart," strengthen internal coordination and collaboration, and ensure that all work is implemented effectively and thoroughly. We must closely focus on the core task of the tertiary hospital re-evaluation, strictly adhere to the bottom line of medical safety, and lay a solid foundation for the high-quality development of the hospital; continue to deeply cultivate the construction of high-quality services, foster medical humanistic care, continuously optimize medical treatment processes, improve the medical environment, and effectively enhance patients' medical experience and public satisfaction; vigorously promote the in-depth application of smart healthcare, empower the entire hospital's work with digitalization to improve quality and efficiency, and unite efforts to promote the hospital to achieve long-term, stable, and high-quality development.

Recognize excellence and set examples. Gao Jihe, Vice President of Hainan Cancer Hospital, read out the recognition decision. The leaders of the council and the leaders of the two hospitals presented honorary certificates to the recognized collectives and individuals.

At the meeting, Yang Qiyan, the representative of the most beautiful head nurse and the head nurse of the Geriatrics Multidisciplinary Diagnosis and Treatment Center, shared her work experience, recounted heartwarming moments in her nursing career, and talked about her insights from her profession. She vividly demonstrated the professional commitment of the nursing team to adhere to their original aspiration and embody the benevolence of doctors.

Dressed in white, we embrace our faith and vow to fulfill our mission. A solemn pinning ceremony for nurses was also held at the event. Senior nurses pinned the cap on the newly recruited nurses, who raised their right hands and solemnly recited the Nightingale Oath, with their powerful and resounding words echoing throughout the venue.
