To further enhance the professional competence of nursing staff across the hospital in peripheral venous puncture, tackle challenging clinical puncture issues, and standardize intravenous therapy procedures, a workshop on sharing challenging cases of peripheral venous puncture was held on May 20th, hosted by the Nursing Department and the Venous Therapy Team. Standardized training nurses, members of the Venous Therapy Team, and Venous Therapy Specialist Nurses from across the hospital gathered to learn, progress, and mutually improve together.

At the beginning of the event, Head Nurse Wang Lingke, the leader of the intravenous therapy team, delivered an opening speech. She emphasized that peripheral venous puncture is not only a basic clinical nursing operation but also crucial for ensuring the smooth progression of patient treatment. She hoped that through this event, nursing staff would enhance their skills in handling difficult vascular punctures and integrate the concepts of precision nursing and pain-free care into clinical practice, thereby improving patients' medical experience.

This event focuses on the difficulties of clinical practical operations, with content that is both professional and practical. Special guests include Zhang Xiaona, head nurse of the gynecology department and deputy leader of the intravenous therapy team, Wang Tingting, head nurse of the operating room, Zhang Shuli, head nurse of the emergency department, Yu Shuang, a specialist nurse in intravenous therapy, and Fu Yubing, a nurse in the blood collection room. The lecturers, drawing on their clinical experience, explained the five major directions: vascular assessment and puncture, emergency venous access, chemotherapy vascular protection, arteriovenous puncture differentiation, and flying needle blood collection techniques. The course combined a review of typical cases, analyzed gains and losses, and was closely related to clinical work. The participants gained a lot from the training.

The interactive discussion and Q&A session was filled with a lively atmosphere, with participants actively speaking up. They engaged in exchanges and discussions based on the puncture challenges they encountered in their clinical work, and proactively shared tips and tricks from their practical operations. The on-site exchange atmosphere was intense, with everyone learning from each other and drawing on each other's experiences. Through the collision of ideas, consensus was reached and abilities were enhanced, truly achieving the activity goal of "promoting thinking through learning, promoting action through thinking, and practicing knowledge through action".

At the end of the event, Head Nurse Wang Lingke gave a summary and asked all participants to flexibly apply the knowledge learned from this event to clinical practice, strengthen internal learning and communication within the department, continuously standardize peripheral venous puncture procedures, continuously improve their professional qualities, and effectively implement precision nursing and humanistic nursing.

The sharing event of challenging peripheral venous puncture cases not only provided an efficient learning and exchange platform for nursing staff across the hospital, but also effectively reviewed the experience in dealing with clinically challenging punctures. It further enhanced the nurses' vascular assessment skills and practical proficiency in handling difficult punctures, laying a solid professional foundation for the hospital to continuously improve the quality of venous therapy nursing services and deeply explore personalized and compassionate nursing care.
