On September 10th, Hainan Cancer Hospital/Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Hainan Medical University and Hainan Chengmei Hospital held a commendation conference for Teachers' Day, commending the teaching and research departments, teachers, and mentors who have performed outstandingly in clinical teaching, talent cultivation, and teaching management over the past year.
Over the past year, our hospital has firmly adhered to the core development strategy of "revitalizing the hospital through science and education", firmly grasped the opportunity presented by the establishment of the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Hainan Medical University, and continued to deeply explore the path of integrated development in scientific research innovation, clinical trials, academic construction, and clinical teaching. The scientific research strength of the entire hospital has steadily improved, the quality and efficiency of clinical trials have been enhanced, the connotation of discipline construction has been continuously consolidated, the core competitiveness and industry influence in regional tumor diagnosis and treatment have been significantly enhanced, and a new journey of high-quality development featuring the integration of medical treatment, education, and research has been fully embarked upon.
To continuously strengthen the foundation for the development of medical education and research, the hospital has made concerted efforts to build a high-level scientific research and innovation platform. It has successively established multiple scientific research platforms such as the Central Laboratory, the Clinical Medical Research Center for Liver Diseases and Liver Critical Care, and the Clinical Trial Center for Digital Cancer Therapy, providing solid hardware and technical support for improving clinical teaching quality and cultivating medical talents.
High-quality academic platforms and profound scientific research expertise continuously translate into robust educational momentum. Currently, the hospital boasts 21 master's and doctoral supervisors, and has jointly established medical talent training bases with over 20 majors from 9 universities. It undertakes clinical teaching for more than 150 medical interns annually, continuously contributing high-quality, professional medical talents to the medical and health sector of Hainan Free Trade Port.
On behalf of the hospital's party and government leadership, President Yu Shuyong extended festive greetings to all teaching staff who have been diligently working on the front lines of clinical practice, teaching, and scientific research. Facing the new situation of internationalized medical care in Hainan Free Trade Port and the new challenges of precision diagnosis and treatment of tumors, Yu Shuyong encouraged all faculty members to adhere to the original aspiration of doctors, deeply cultivate medical skills, cultivate medical ethics, and vigorously nurture young talents who are proficient in both clinical practice and teaching. Zhang Jun, a representative of excellent teachers and a therapist in the Rehabilitation Medicine Department, shared his insights on educating students based on his own teaching experience. He stated that clinical teaching is a process of mutual growth, where while deeply engaging in clinical teaching, one's own professional abilities are also continuously refined.
Jiang Bei, an outstanding representative of the teaching and research office and the deputy director of the nursing department, shared the concept of "teaching students according to their aptitude and fostering them in different levels" in the nursing teaching and research office. She formulated personalized teaching plans for intern nurses, standardized training nurses, and nurses at various levels. She stated that in the next step, the nursing teaching and research office will adhere to its original intention of educating people, innovate teaching modes, strengthen teacher development, deepen medical-educational collaboration, and strive to cultivate more high-quality, application-oriented nursing talents.
