The tradition of Goldwind has been passed down from generation to generation, and the spirit of the old guiding the new has been adhered to for a long time. In order to consolidate the construction of standardized nursing training, give full play to the role of nursing backbone in "passing on, helping, and guiding", and help young nurses grow rapidly, our hospital successfully held the second pairing ceremony between standardized training nurses and mentors recently.

In April this year, our hospital successfully held the inaugural pairing ceremony for standardized training nurses and mentors, officially launching a new mentorship system for teaching and training. Through competitive recommendation by departments and comprehensive selection by the nursing department, a total of 49 pairs of mentors and standardized training nurses were matched. The clinical instructors, all of whom are experienced and responsible nursing professionals, will provide one-on-one guidance throughout the entire process, assisting the new nurses in their professional transformation from campus to clinical practice, from theory to practice, and from "being able to do" to "doing well".

Deputy Director Jiang Bei of the Nursing Department delivered a speech for the ceremony. She stated that standardized training is a crucial stage for nurses to transition from theory to clinical practice. The purpose of this pairing is to provide a bridge for the growth of standardized training nurses. She required the teaching teachers to fulfill three roles: a strict teacher, who standardizes teaching and reinforces institutional and safety awareness; a helpful friend, who listens and encourages, relieves students' pressure, and builds confidence; and a role model, who demonstrates the professionalism, self-discipline, benevolence, and responsibility of oncology nursing staff. At the same time, she encouraged standardized training nurses to seize the opportunity of pairing, frequently seek advice, be good at reviewing, dare to expose their shortcomings, and accumulate confidence in clinical practice; hold reverence for life, institutions, and responsibilities, and strictly adhere to the bottom line of nursing safety.

After the speech, the large screen displayed the list of all paired mentors and apprentices for this session, marking the beginning of the core part of the ceremony, "Passing on the Torch - Pairing and Contract Signing". Accompanied by solemn and gentle background music, each group of mentors and apprentices took the stage in turn. The mentors presented growth commemorative manuals to the apprentices, condensing their hopes for growth into the pages of the booklet, recording a full year of transformation; the apprentices presented flowers to the mentors, expressing their gratitude for the teachers' hard work with fragrant blooms.

"A manual carries expectations, and our original aspiration remains steadfast as we embark on a new journey. A bouquet of flowers pays tribute to the kindness of our mentors, and the torch is passed down from generation to generation." Every exchange of tokens not only forges a mentor-apprentice bond, but also represents a heavy responsibility of teaching. After the teams completed the exchange of tokens, they posed for a group photo, and the warm atmosphere infected the entire venue.

Li Jiaxin, a representative of standardized training nurses, took the stage to share her personal growth experience during standardized training, recounting her gains and insights under the meticulous guidance of her mentor, passing on valuable wisdom to the new batch of trainees. Du Lifeng, a representative of the first batch of outstanding mentors, made a statement, solemnly pledging to mentor and educate, and aspiring to be a guide, companion, and enabler on the clinical journey of young nurses.

It is reported that in the next step, the nursing department will continue to improve the instructor-led teaching system, strengthen the whole-process management of standardized training, and constantly build a strong nursing talent team, in order to accumulate a steady stream of new forces for the high-quality development of the hospital's nursing career.
