Warm the Army Day, Care for Comrades. On July 31, a free clinic specially organized for veterans and family members of veterans was held in Haikou on August 1, the Army Day.
Haikou is a nationally renowned "Model City of Double Support", and has been maintaining a good atmosphere of supporting the military and favoring the families. On the eve of "August 1" Army Day this year , in order to further fulfill the role of medical institutions in supporting the military and favoring the families with special services, and to create a good atmosphere of "making military a respected profession in the whole society", the Haikou Veteran Affair Bureau and the Municipal Veteran Service Center, together with the Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital, organized a special free clinic with the theme of "Warm the Army Day, Care for Comrades".
Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital, which undertook the task of the free clinic, selected a group of outstanding experts to form a strong clinic lineup, of which, many experts had served in the army.
Gao Jihe, Vice President of Hainan Cancer Hospital, who was in charge of this clinic,worked in the former PLA 301 Hospital and has more than 30 years of military service. He said, "Although I have left the army, the heart of a soldier is still warm, and my love for the army is always in my mind.”
Gao Jihe introduction, Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital always make the social responsibility and mission bearing as our priority, especially in the inheritance and promoting of the fine tradition of supporting the military and fulfilling the obligations of national defense according to the law to perform the health care system, and we have made certain contributions. Over the past few years, the two hospitals have prioritized the resettlement of a large number of military personnel who chose to work on their own, retired soldiers and military family members, as well as a number of outstanding retired military specialists. These veterans, after retiring and putting on their white coats, have never forgotten their original intentions and missions, and with the military character of "never fading from the military", they have fully demonstrated their commitment and role as soldiers in various positions in the hospital.
Meanwhile, free abdominal ultrasound, free thyroid ultrasound and free cardiac function tests were also arranged at the site, as well as free screenings for the five most prevalent and highly prevalent cancers, including lung, breast, liver, upper gastrointestinal and colorectal cancers.
During the free clinic on that day, experts offered patient and detailed counseling and guidance to veterans and family members of veterans who attended. Rehabilitation specialists were especially favored, acupuncture, massage...The two specialized physicians have been rather busy.
Tu Ruisha, Rotating Director of Provincial Cancer Hospital Gastrointestinal Cancer Center, and also a retired military, takes the initiative to apply for the "August 1" clinic activities every year. She said, "The army has nurtured and forged me, and now I am especially happy to do my best to repay my "mothers family".
Mr. Chen, who retired from the Hainan Military Region, said that the spirit of great love of the City Veteran Affair Bureau, Hainan Cancer Hospital and Hainan Chengmei Hospital had really made them feel the care and love of the society for the soldiers, and he was been very grateful.
Supporting the military with love and health, more than 120 veterans and family members of veterans participated in the free clinic on that day, and the activity was unanimously praised by everyone.
