Our Hospital Organizes A Basic Teaching Skill Competition for Young Teachers

On September 1st, in order to celebrate the thirty-ninth Teachers' Day, Hainan Cancer Hospital, Hainan Chengmei Hospital jointly organized the second Young Teacher Teaching Competition, 16 young physicians and technicians from the two hospitals start a fierce competition on the same stage.

Young talents are the future and hope of the hospital, and young teachers, as the new force of the teaching team of the hospital, shoulder the important responsibility of promoting the development of teaching in the hospital. As the only third class A-grade cancer hospital in the province, Hainan Cancer Hospital has always been insisting on the synergistic development of medical treatment, teaching and research, and practicing the development strategy of "developing the hospital by science and education, strengthening the hospital by talents", not only actively introducing talents in science and education, but also continuously strengthening teaching and research and talent cultivation through the formulation of a series of systems such as science and education project management and incentives.

For many years, Hainan Cancer Hospital, as an affiliated tumor hospital of Hainan Medical College, has undertaken the clinical teaching mission of the college. At present, there are 21 experts in our hospital serving as supervisors for masters degree students of Hainan Medical College, of which 3 are supervisors for doctoral degree students. Meanwhile, our hospital has also set up a number of teaching and research departments involving imaging, testing, nursing, rehabilitation, public administration and other specialties, and has undertaken the task of clinical teaching of interns from a number of medical schools such as Harbin Medical University and Guangxi University of Science and Technology as well as the further training and cultivation of grass-roots doctors, and has admitted hundreds of interns to the hospital for study and further education.

In order to further strengthen the construction of young teachers and improve the overall teaching level of young teachers, our hospital actively planned and organized this competition. A total of 16 young physicians and technicians from various departments including Oncology Department, Hematology Department, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics Multidisciplinary Diagnostic and Treatment Center, Rehabilitation Medicine Department, Thoracic Surgery Department, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Department, Dental Department, Medical Imaging Department, Clinical Pharmacy and Ultrasound Department, etc., signed up for the competition.

At the competition site, within a short period of 15 minutes, with rich teaching enthusiasm, distinctive forms of instruction, inspiring on-site interaction ...... quality courses were presented respectively by the young teachers, demonstrating their solid teaching skills and good classroom control.

Promote teaching with competition, pass the flame of medicine The evaluation experts commented and guided the young teachers on their on-site performance, teaching ideas, courseware making, etc., and put forward pertinent suggestions on the future growth of young teachers in light of their own years of clinical and teaching experience and insights.

Teachers basic teaching skill competition is of great significance to the growth of young teachers, which provides a platform for young teachers to show themselves, as well as obtain mutual exchanges and learning. The relevant person in charge of the hospital said that it is expected that the young doctors and technicians of the hospital will take the teaching competition of young teachers as an opportunity to continue to maintain a rigorous academic attitude in their daily work and teaching, and constantly consolidate their professional ability and basic teaching skills. The hospital will also spare no effort to provide a better growth environment and developing platform for young physicians and technologists, so as to realize a win-win between personal improvement and hospital development,to promote the long-term, stable and sustainable development of the hospital.

It is reported that the first, second and third prizes will be awarded respectively for the clinical and medical-technical groups, and the results will be announced at the 39th Teachers Day Commendation Ceremony of our hospital.
